An Omak man has been arrested in the shooting death of Seth Harris on Jan. 23.
Robert Decastro, 31, was arrested Jan. 25, said Omak Police Chief Jeff Koplin.
Decastro allegedly shot Harris on Riverside Drive and then fled the scene, the chief said. Decastro was booked into the Okanogan County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.
“The investigation is ongoing and more suspects are being sought at this time,” Koplin said.
The investigation has been a collaborative effort between the Omak Police Department and the Okanogan County Sheriff's Office. Detective Marcos Ruiz of the Omak Police Department is the lead investigator.
“All of Omak PD’s officers and many sheriff’s deputies have worked non-stop on this case,” he said. “The work will continue until this case is brought to a successful conclusion.”
Police were called at about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday to Riverside Drive and Locust Street for a disturbance, said Koplin. The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
They found a vehicle that had been abandoned on the road by its occupants and found Harris, 32, Okanogan, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the chest, sitting in the driver’s seat.
CPR was initiated and Harris was taken to Mid-Valley Hospital by LifeLine Ambulance.
“The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital a short time later,” Koplin said.
