     Morton has served in the Senate since 1994, when he was appointed. He served in the House of Representatives from 1991-1994.
     Morton holds a bachelor of arts degree in history and political science from Alfred University and a bachelor of divinity from the Alfred University School of Theology. Additional studies were at Palmer Seminary.
     He and his wife, Linda, have five children and 11 grandchildren.

     Sump was first elected in November 1996. He attended high school in Houston, Texas, and spent four years in trade school learning heavy equipment diesel engine repair.
     Sump and his wife, Brenda, have three children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They lived in the Olympia-Centralia area before moving to Ferry County in 1988.
     His committees for 2007 are environmental health (ranking member) and select committee on Hood Canal.

Sen. Linda Evans Parlette
R-Wenatchee
Term expires January 2009
     Parlette was elected to the House in November 1996 and served in the House until being elected to the Senate in November 2000. She was named Senate Republican Caucus chairwoman Nov. 30, 2006.
     She holds a bachelor of science degree from Washington State University in pharmacy, and works as a pharmacist and orchardist.
     Parlette, a fourth generation Chelan-area resident, and her husband, Bob, have five children.
     Committees for 2007 include health and long term care, ways and means, financial institutions and insurance, and rules.

     Armstrong, a fourth generation Wenatchee Valley resident, was first elected in November 2000. He is a 1976 graduate of Eastmont High School, attended Wenatchee Valley College and is a former owner of a construction company.
     He worked for the state Department of Transportation from 1982 until 2003. He now is facilities manager for Chelan County PUD.
     He and his wife, Mary, have three children, Abraham, Cassandra and Maureen. His hobbies include playing Santa, woodworking, computers, fishing, education, acting, home brewing, travel, camping and backpacking.
     He served on the Wenatchee School Board and is involved in many community organizations.
     Committees for 2007 include appropriations sub-committee on general government and audit, transportation, state government and tribal affairs, and rules.
