Penny's signs lease for new building
| JC Penney will close its downtown Omak store and reopen in a new building currently
under construction in the Omache Shopping Center. |
| "JC Penney has signed a lease with the developers," said Omak store manager Mike
Striggow. |
| The property is owned by Larimar Inc., Federal Way. |
| While details are still being worked out, Striggow said the company plans to open the
new store Nov. 4. |
| "We will open with all new merchandise," he said, adding the company will close its
downtown location Oct. 31. |
| Three new buildings are planned in north Omak's shopping center. A 10,400-square-foot
commercial building will be constructed next to Hub Clothing at 705 Omache Drive, according to
building permits approved by the City of Omak. |
| Next door, JC Penney will occupy a commercial building totaling almost 24,000 square
feet at 707 Omache Drive. The present Penney's store has about 10,300 square feet. |
| The third building, which is supposed to house eating and drinking establishments, will
total about 8,000 square feet. It will be located at 709 Omache Drive, across from Hub Clothing
close to Texaco Xpress Lube. |
| General contractor is Garco Construction. |
