Patrol reports Three injured in Brewster
BREWSTER – Three people were injured Aug. 21 in a two-vehicle collision 3.5 miles north of town.
Cara A. Campbell, 26, Omak, was southbound on U.S. Highway 97 at 8:19 a.m. when her car hit a car driven by Kelli M. Holloway, 43, Coulee City, the Washington State Patrol said. Holloway, who also was southbound, had stopped to make a left turn onto Cassimer Bar Access Road.
Campbell was not injured. Two passengers, Jackson W. Squetimkin, 26, Omak, and Devon L. Goodrich, 20, Tonasket, were injured but refused aid.
Holloway was injured and was taken by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster.
All four were wearing seatbelts. Both vehicles were damaged.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, the patrol said.
Campbell was cited for speed too fast.
One vehicle crash injures three
BRIDGEPORT – Three people were injured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:10 a.m. Aug. 25 on state Highway 173.
Gonzalo O. Ruiz, 37, was northbound about 5.5 miles from Bridgeport when his SUV went off the road’s left side, overturned and came to rest on the southbound shoulder, the Washington State Patrol said.
Ruiz was injured and was taken by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital, Brewster. It’s unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt, the patrol said.
Passengers Anna Q. Ruiz, 32, and Alondro Ruiz Pahua, 31, both of Brewster, were injured by not transported. They both wore seatbelts.
Drugs or alcohol were involved, the patrol said. Gonzalo Ruiz was cited for DUI.
Tonasket driver hurt
RIVERSIDE – A Tonasket driver was injured Aug. 24 when her SUV crashed on U.S. Highway 97 north of town.
Hollyann P. Howe, 21, was northbound at 2:15 p.m. when her vehicle went off the road to the left on a right-hand corner near Booher Lake three miles north of Riverside. It overturned and came to rest on its wheels.
She was wearing a seatbelt. No drugs or alcohol were involved, the patrol said.
She was cited for driving with wheels off the road.
One injured in crash
OKANOGAN – A local man was injured Aug. 24 when his pickup truck collided with a pickup truck on state Highway 20 about eight miles west of town.
David R. Petitt, 62, was taken by ambulance to Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, the Washington State Patrol said.
The other driver, Shon G. Inabnit, 49, Arlington, was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Petitt was in his driveway and attempting to turn left onto the highway eastbound. Inabnit was eastbound when Petitt turned in front of him, the patrol said. The vehicles collided in the eastbound lane.
No drugs or alcohol were involved.
Petitt was cited for failure to yield right of way.
Brewster crash hurts one
BREWSTER – One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash Aug. 20 on U.S. Highway 97 three miles north of town.
Okanogan resident Virginia L. Aos, 68, was injured when the car in which she was riding collided with another vehicle, the Washington State Patrol said. She was taken to Three Rivers Hospital.
Brewster resident Roberto Guzman, 57, was northbound at 5:07 p.m. when a fence post fell out of the bed of his truck. John A. Morris, 66, Dryden, was following Guzman and swerved to miss the post at the same time James E. Aos, 73, Omak, attempted to pass Morris.
Their vehicles collided.
Guzman’s pickup truck was not damaged, nor was he injured.
The cars driven by Morris and Aos were damaged, but drivable. Neither Morris nor James Aos was hurt.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, the patrol said. All four people were wearing seatbelts.
Guzman was cited for failure to secure load.
