Jingling joggers help food bank

Event draws lots of families to park

— Several dozen people braved the cold Saturday to jog their way around the half-mile exercise area at East Side Park.

The entry fee for the Jingle Bell Jog went for food at the Food Bank, spokeswoman Racie McKee said.

Susanne Mensik, formerly from Tonasket and now in the Air Force at Colorado Spring, Colo., was the quickest jogger, doing four times around the course.

Mensik, a staff sergeant, is the equivalent of a physician’s assistant.

The 2005 graduate of Tonasket High School was in town visiting her sister, Nattalie Cariker, and other relatives.
