Sexton wins horse title

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — Dontyoujustloveit captured the first-place intermediate title in performance halter mares Monday at the 2013 American Quarter Horse Association Open World Championship Show.

Owner Melissa Sexton of Okanogan showed the first-place intermediate horse.

American Quarter Horse Dontyoujustloveit is a 2009 sorrel mare. The horse was sired by A Dream Remembered and out of Impulsive Madonna. Randy Alderson of Sharpsville, Ind., was the breeder.

The intermediate awards program is designed to recognize exhibitors who have never placed in the Top 10 at an American Quarter Horse Association world show in the particular class in which they are competing. Intermediate exhibitor status is based only on an exhibitor’s lifetime, combined world show record, and not on the number of points he or she has accumulated.
