OMAK – Okanogan High School made two first-half goals stand up in a 2-0 win over Omak on Oct. 1.
“We were able to put pressure on them and got many shots on goal, but had a tough time scoring,” Okanogan coach Dean Klepec said. “Defensively, we played well and didn’t allow them to get many shots on goal.”
Janice Romero scored on an assist from Amber Duke to put the Bulldogs on the board midway through the first period.
Emmy Engle scored the second goal on an assist from Alexis Jones a minute before half time.
The second half of league play starts with Omak (2-5 overall, 1-4 league) at Chelan (1-5, 0-4) while Liberty Bell (4-3) is at Okanogan (4-3) for a non-league match Tuesday, Oct. 8.
TONASKET – Tonasket nipped Brewster, 2-1, in a Caribou Trail League match Oct. 1.
No scoring was available for either team.
In other CTL matches Tuesday, Cashmere spanked Chelan, 15-0, and Cascade shut out Quincy, 4-0.
The Tonasket at Cascade match slated for Sept. 28 has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12.
Tonasket (4-1 overall, 3-1 league) is at Cashmere (7-1, 6-0) on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Cashmere is at Brewster (3-5, 2-4) on Thursday, Oct. 8.
LIBERTY BELL – Liberty Bell blew past Oroville, 9-0, in a Central Washington League match-up on Oct. 1.
No scoring was received.
Liberty Bell (4-3 overall) is at Okanogan (4-3) for a non-league match and Manson (0-4 overall, 0-0 league) is at Oroville (1-5, 0-2) for a league match on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
CASHMERE – League-leading Cashmere knocked off Omak, 8-1, on Sept. 30.
Haley Little scored Omak’s lone goal, which was only the fifth goal the Bulldogs have yielded this season.
