• What is the hospital district’s most pressing concern and how would you address it?

The most pressing concern for the hospital district is bringing back the community.

At least one out of five people I have spoken with are going elsewhere for their medical needs. Allow public meetings to find out why and what the needs and concerns are.

• What does the hospital need to do to address changes in medical coverage under the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)?

Make sure administration is educated on the Affordable Health Care Act. Provide resources to educate managers, supervisors and staff on the procedures and processes that will affect the hospital.

• How would you ensure a financially healthy future for the hospital?

I personally cannot ensure the financial viability, but working as a team with other commissioners, we can strive for a healthy future.

Jerry L. Kennedy, a candidate for Hospital District 6 commissioner No. 3, did not respond to The Chronicle’s candidate questionnaire.
