City approves annexation

— The City Council has approved the annexation of several parcels to the south end of town.

During its Sept. 17 meeting, the council accepted the proposal of Caribou Trail LLC, represented by Bonnie Rawson, to annex six parcels, totaling 7.35 acres, plus a portion of state Highway 20 running alongside the parcels.

All six are on Morris Road in Mock Tracts and along the highway. The property is across the highway from the Fowler Trailer Court property, which was annexed last year.

In other business, the council:

• Approved a biosolids beneficial use contract involving the city, Boulder Park Inc. and King County. The contract to dispose of biosolids generated by the city’s wastewater treatment plant will run through Dec. 31, 2018.

• Learned the estimated cost of repairs from the Sept. 6 rainstorm to the Highland, Viewmont and Crestview area is $321,000.

The storm washed away parts of the roads.

Temporary repairs have been made.
