TWISP Would-be designers have until May 1 to sign up to create a design for Confluence Gallery and Art Center’s annual Trashion Show.
The show, which features clothing made from throw-away and recycled items, will be at 7 p.m. May 10 at the Methow Valley Community Center, 201 Methow Valley Highway.
Cash prizes will be awarded, and include $150 for grand prize, and $50 each for the youth category, age 55 and older and people’s choice. A designer fee will be charged.
Possible items for entries include old ties, copper wire, bicycle tubes, chicken wire, snow fencing, corks, old CDs, magazines, toilet paper rolls and gum wrappers.
“You name it – your junk can be up-cycled into a wearable, even functional, outfit,” Confluence said. “This is your chance to create an entirely unique piece of art and watch as it makes its way down the runway, strutting to the tunes of D.J. Noah Ashford, hundreds of spectators applauding your design.”
Audience admission will be charged. Limited VIP seating is available and includes a seat by the judges and a free drink.
