’Dogs, Bears win

— Okanogan came from behind to top Tonasket, 4-1, in a Caribou Trail League soccer match Tuesday.

“In the first half with the wind, we struggled with getting scoring opportunities,” Okanogan coach Dean Klepec said. “In the second half against the wind, we did a much better job of controlling the ball and making good passes to set up scoring opportunities.”

Tonasket got on the board first. The scorer was not reported.

Okanogan’s Fabian Rodriguez scored unassisted to tie the game.

Jason Perez scored on an assist from Arnulfo Mercado for a 2-1 Okanogan lead at halftime.

In the second half, Justin Rivas scored off an assist from Perez, who scored the final goal on a Rivas assist.

Okanogan (4-2 overall, 3-2 league) is at Brewster (6-0, 5-0) and Tonasket (2-4, 0-4) visits Omak (0-6, 0-5) on Tuesday.

WINTHROP – Bridgeport slipped past Liberty Bell, 3-1, on Tuesday.

“It was a good, hard-fought game with really strong goaltending from the Bridgeport goal keeper,” Liberty Bell coach Lincoln Post said. “Liberty Bell looks forward to a rematch.”

Oroville (1-3 overall, 0-1 league) is at Manson (1-3, 0-0) on Monday.

BREWSTER – Brewster blasted past Omak, 5-1, in a Caribou Trail League match Tuesday.

Ricardo Garcia scored two goals for the Brewster. With one goal each were Brady Bushing, Edgar Perez and Luis Orozco.

German Ramirez scored Omak’s goal.

Tonasket (2-4 overall, 0-4 league) is at Omak (0-6, 0-5) and Okanogan (4-2, 3-2) is at Brewster (6-0, 5-0) on Tuesday.
