WENATCHEE The Washington Apple Education Foundation has announced a record number of scholarships this year.
Nearly $850,000 was awarded to college-bound young people raised in tree fruit industry families and communities.
Funds were donated by tree fruit growers, packers and suppliers and interested members of the community.
Scholarships range from $500 to four-year, nearly full-ride investments in 185 students.
