OMAK The National Weather Service has issued several watches and warnings for the region through Friday.
A flash flood watch has been issued in Okanogan County until 11 p.m. Friday in recently burned wildfire areas.
Meteorologists say “brief downpours from isolated to scattered thunderstorms could produce flash flooding across areas that have experienced recent wildfires; debris flows and rapid runoff would be a significant threat…”
An air quality alert has been issued for several counties including Douglas, Ferry and Okanogan until 5 tonight.
“Monday saw some of the worst air quality over the region in several weeks,” said metorologists from the Weather Service. “Wildfire smoke will disperse a little Tuesday and Wednesday, but overall little air quality improvement is expected.”
A hazardous weather outlook was issued this morning for the region, as another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected tonight.
