Brewster salmon derby raises $1,700 for fire victims

— The ninth annual Budweiser-Lowrance King Salmon Derby on Aug. 1-3 raised $1,700 in a raffle for a YETI cooler that benefited victims of the Carlton Complex fires.

Wiley Flohr of Wenatchee, competing in the youth division, pulled out the biggest salmon at 24.97 pounds. That was good enough for $600.

Corey Maynard won the adult title and $1,500 with a 21.85-pound salmon.

Katlynn Gibbons won the 8-and-under title with 5.43-pound salmon. That was good for $275.

Bob Shelton won a pair of Cannon Digi-Troll 10's by being the combined weight winner from derbies in Brewster and Wenatchee.
