REPUBLIC The School District has approved a $4.3 million budget for 2014-15.
School districts receive state basic education and other state and federal allocations based on the number of full-time equivalent students, establishing a baseline for budgeting, officials said.
The district estimates kindergarten through 12th-grade enrollment at about 304 students this fall, down from last year’s budgeted enrollment of 338.
Some of the changes include a decrease in special education funding by about $11,484, and vocational instruction funding by $10,703.
New staff this year includes; Summer Soltis, fifth, sixth-grade math and science; Mike Church K-8 grade principal; John Glenewinkel, Superintendent.
The first day of school is Sept. 2.
