Three injured Christmas Day

Three people were injured Christmas Day when their car went off state Highway 17 and overturned about six miles north of town.

Juan C. Alvarez Castillo, 28, was northbound at 12:52 p.m. when his car went off the road, hit a utility guy wire and overturned, coming to rest on the passenger side, the Washington State Patrol said.

Alvarez Castillo and two passengers were injured and were taken by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster. All three are from Bridgeport.

Also injured were Maria Bastidasn, 59, and Margarita Alzarez, 25.

All three were wearing seatbelts. No drugs or alcohol were involved, the patrol said.

Alvarez Castillo was cited for driving with wheels of the roadway.

The vehicle was destroyed.
