Self governance class set for Monday

Level 1 required to advance to Level 2

— There will be a Center for Self Governance class from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at the Northern Inn, 852 S. Clark Ave.

Monday will be a Level 1 course “designed to introduce the concepts surrounding self governance, civic authority and bring everyone up to a common level of knowledge regarding our role in exercising our civic responsibilities and authority,” organizers said. “This course is foundational and will lay the groundwork necessary to successfully implement the lessons learned in future courses.”

The class will be taught by Pam Leslie and Trinity Stucker.

There will be a Level 2 class Feb. 18-19 at Whistler’s Family Restaurant, 616 Whitcomb Ave. in Tonasket.

People must complete the Level 1 class before advancing to Level 2. Leslie said she highly recommends the class and hopes that many elected officials will attend.

“Our goal is to build teams for every level of government in every county: school board, city council, county, state and federal,” Leslie said.

A fee will be charged for the class.
