Brewster free throws sink Omak boys

Liberty Bell slips by Lake Roosevelt

— The Bears used free throws late to pull away from the Omak Pioneer boys, 45-38, in a Caribou Trail League game Tuesday.

“We played great defense,” Omak coach Kyle Desautel said. “Thomas vanSinten held Timbo Taylor to 5 points.”

The Bears led 31-30 after three quarters before sinking 10 late free throws in a 14-8 fourth quarter run.

“Easton Driessen (18 points) shot more foul shots than our entire team,” Desautel said.

Leighton Boyd scored 10 points for Omak.

“We also had a lot of unforced turnovers,” Desautel said. “Throwing the ball out of bounds, dribbling it off our own foot, missing passes that hit us in the hands. Our focus didn’t seem to be there.”
