TONASKET The Mood Swings and Don Elliott will perform live music in History Park from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, July 11.
Event coordinator, Janet Culp said this is the second “Music in the Park” for the season, hosted by the Community Cultural Center.
Culp said last month’s concert was a success.
“We had 50 attendees; the weather was threatening” but the sky cleared and “the park was beautiful,” Culp said.
The Mood Swings began performing in 2000 throughout North-Central Washington with a focus on the big-band era.
Now 14 years later, they have added musical selections from the 1950s and '60s to their repertoire.
The south Okanogan County-based group has seen several vocalists come and go throughout the years of performing. Current vocalists include, CherylAnn Crego, Betsy Rainsford, Judy Johnston; keyboardist, Janyth Arvidson and percussionist, Greg Johnston.
“Don Elliott will open, and perform during breaks," Culp said.
Food will be on site from La Ultima Mexi Deli for purchase. Beverages and desserts will also be available by donation.
Culp reminds people to bring a lawn chair or blanket and attend the show. Should weather be inclement, the show will be moved to the Community Cultural Center.
The Mood Swings will be the second of three acts throughout the summer concert series.
“The next is Randy Battle Bluez and Shannon and Friends,” Culp said.
