Fairgrounds housing rescued animals

— Animals rescued from wildfire areas can be taken to the Okanogan County Fairgrounds for food, housing and care.

The fairgrounds is located at 175 Rodeo Trail Road.

The animal rescue is being staffed by volunteers, both local and from the Washington State Animal Response Tema.

In general, animals may be taken to the rescue location from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., officials said. However, the rescue area will be staff as emergency flare-ups occur.

The rescue site includes animal housing and staff to assist with animal care, but primary repsonsibility for and animal remains with the owner, officials said.
