OKANOGAN Despite hot, dry weather, evacuation levels associated with the Carlton Complex wildfires have not been changed since yesterday.
According to Okanogan Emergency Operatons Center officials, all of the county remains less than evacuation Level 2, meaning no homes are in immediate danger.
Fire officials based at Liberty Bell High School in Winthrop said the wildfire complex is 71 percent contained today at 251,698 acres.
Current evacuations levels are:
Level 2 — Alta Lake, Cook Mountain, Libby Creek, North Cook Mountain and Pleasant Valley.
Level 1 — Carlton, Pateros, Twisp, Balky Hill Road, Benson Canyon, Chiliwist, Davis Lake, Finley Canyon, Gold Creek, Texas Creek, Upper Bear Creek, Upper Beaver Creek, state Highway 20 from Beaver Creek to Sims Canyon, state Highway 153 from Milepost 20 to Carlton, and West Fork Cougar Creek east of Chesaw.
The rest of the county is not currently under any evacaution notice.
