SPOKANE A Spokane policeman shot and killed a man suspected of multiple armed robberies Wednesday night.
The name of the suspect and his cause of death have yet to be released. Authorities have also yet to release the names of the officers involved in the shooting.
According to the Spokane Investigative Regional Response Team the shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Grace Street.
A police report on the shooting said police went to the home to find a man they believed was involved in multiple armed robberies.
Officers attempted to negotiate the man’s surrender, the report said. Instead, he came out of the home allegedly armed with a handgun.
Police shot and killed the suspect, the report said, noting evidence was still being collected at 3 a.m. today.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the man and the cause of death, the report said.
