Okanogan softball cinches league crown

Omak pulverizes Cascade girls

— Liberty Bell claimed the boys track team title while Okanogan was the top girls team at the Draggoo Financial Invitational on Saturday.

The Mountain Lions boys finished with 99 points, just in front of Bridgeport at 94.

Liberty Bell boys winning included Liam Daily in the 1,600-meters (4:41.04), Ben Klemmeck in the 3,200 (10:13.06) and Austin Watson in the long jump (20-10.50).

Watson’s leap is fourth best in state 2B while Klemmeck’s time is fifth best.

Hanson and Okanogan’s Mason Guerrette tied in the high jump (5-8).

The Mountain Lion 4x100 relay won (46.08) with Cesar Dominguez, Hanson, Daily and Austin Watson.

The Liberty Bell 4x400 relay won (3:37.16) with Kelsey Jensen, Hanson, Dominguez and Daily. The time is fourth best in the state.

Bridgeport holds the second fastest time (3:34.94).

Bridgeport boys winning included Kip Craig in the 200 (24.06), 110 hurdles (15.85) and 300 hurdles (41.85), and Eduardo Zarate in the 100 (11.62).

Tonasket boys winning included Ryan Rylie in the 400 (54.60) and Ethan Bensing in the triple jump (39-10.50).

Sam Goble of Omak won the 800 (2:10.28) and Luke Kindred of Oroville won the javelin (163-00).

Kindred’s mark is the third best in state 2B.

Okanogan easily took the girls crown with 115 points led by Emmy Engle, who won the 800 (2:42.00), discus (94-00) and javelin (108-09)

Oroville’s Kaitlyn Grunst won the high jump (5-0); Sierra Speiker won the 1,600 (5:36.15) and the 3,200 (10:56.32);

Tonasket girls winning include Rose Walts in the 100 (16.31) and triple jump (33-4.5), Cassie Spear in the 400 (1:01.78) and Kathryn Cleman in the pole vault (8-6).

The Tigers 4x100 won (52.90) with Cleman, Spear, Kylie Dellinger and Walts and 4x400 won (4:27.64) with Cleman, Dellinger, Spear and Jaden Vugteveen.

Yvonne Kilgour of Omak won the shot put (34-00) and Keanna Egbert won the long jump (14-7.5).

RIVERSIDE – Shania Graham of Republic won the 3,200-meter run at the Riverside Twilight Invitational on Friday.

Graham finished in 11 minutes, 55.30 seconds.

She was seventh in the 800 (2:30.00).

Sierra McQuay finished fourth in the high jump (4-8).

For Republic boys, were paced by high jumpers - 4, Tyler Czapiewski (5-4), 5, Trevor Remien (5-4) and 7, Duncan Forsman (5-2).

Spencer Reiss of Curlew was 11th in the 1,600 (4:57.11).
