Utility to review latest audit results

OKANOGAN – The Okanogan County Public Utility District commissioners have scheduled an audit exit conference during their regular meeting Monday.

The audit was conducted by Moss Adams LLP, an accounting and business consulting firm with an office in Spokane.

According to the preliminary agenda, service awards will be given to longtime utility employees; the commissioners will hear an update on Project Help, a program to assist people temporarily with utility bills; and proposed expenditures will be considered for Enloe Dam.

The meeting begins with an executive session at 2:30 p.m., then the public meeting reconvenes at 3 p.m. at the utility headquarters, 1331 S. Second Ave.

County commissioners to address petition

OKANOGAN – Okanogan County commissioners plan to discuss a county petition regarding water rights and steelhead in a proposed Johnson Creek restoration project at 4 p.m. Monday.

Commissioner meetings are hosted in the Grainger Administration Building, 123 N. Fifth Ave. Meetings begin at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Other agenda items for both days include departmental updates, a discussion with Family Health Centers CEO Mike Hassing and a finance committee meeting.

School Board to hear presentations

OMAK – The Omak School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Room C126 of the high school Career and Technical Education Building.

Agenda items include a field trip request for a middle school highly capable student trip and presentation of the 2014-15 career and technical education plan.

Presentations will be made by the theater tech, building trades, business education, agriculture science, family and consumer science, commercial art and automotive programs.

Public Health to discuss diseases

OKANOGAN – Communicable disease is one topic planned for the next Okanogan County Public Health meeting, slated for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at 1234 S. Second Ave.

Other agenda items include a discussion about environmental health, financial reports for April, and the public health website.

Twisp Council reschedules meeting

TWISP – The Town Council has canceled its Tuesday night meeting due to a lack of business, but will meet at noon that day to approve payroll and past meeting minutes.

The council will meet at Town Hall, 118 S. Glover St.

Parks and Recreation meeting canceled

OKANOGAN – The regular Okanogan County Parks and Recreation Board meeting has been canceled. Meetings are slated for 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at the Agriplex, 175 Rodeo Trail Road.

Flood management meeting planned

OKANOGAN – An annual emergency management flood meeting will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Grainger Administration Building, 123 N. Fifth Ave.

APJ Committee to meet Tuesday

PATEROS – The Apple Pie Jamboree Committee meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Los Cantaritos, 180 Pateros Mall. All volunteers are welcome.

County transportation group to meet

OMAK – The Okanogan County Transportation Authority will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at 307 S. Main St. No. 4.

Pest Control Board to meet in Omak

OMAK – The Pest Control Board will meet at noon Monday at Koala Street Grill, 914 Koala Drive.
