Motorcyclist dies of injuries suffered Sept. 11

— A 79-year-old man from Nampa, Idaho, has died from injuries suffered in a Sept. 11 motorcycle crash on state Highway 20 about 13 miles east of town.

Leon A. Graviet was eastbound at 1:53 p.m. and entering a sweeping curve to the left, the Washington State Patrol said Monday. He was riding with Michael D. Graviet, 46, of Emmett, Idaho.

Leon Graviet failed to negotiate the curve and struck a guardrail.

Michael Graviet swerved to avoiding hitting Leon Graviet and slid to a stop, the patrol said.

Drugs or alcohol were not involved.

Both drivers were using helmets and had motorcycle endorsements to their licenses.

Leon Graviet was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, where he later died. Next of kin have been notified.

Michael Graviet was not injured.

The cause of the crash was wheels off roadway.
