REPUBLIC The 21st annual Ferry County Conservation Fair is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Ferry County Fairgrounds, 14 Lawson Way.
The three-hour event includes activities and educational workshops for people of all ages and includes a 4-H petting zoo, carousel rides, plant sale, questions and answer session with master gardeners, Tech Wizards robotics and digital media, noxious weed control and various other vendors.
Other events include:
-A live demonstration of how local contractors use special equipment such as chippers, portable saw mills, log splitters and brush hogs to treat natural resources including forestry related issue.
-Birdhouse building (while supplies last) courtesy of Curlew Job Corps.
-Instragram workshop and photo contest hosted by the Republic Chamber of Commerce
-A presentation by Ferry County Solid Waste division on composting
The event is part of Ferry County Pride Month, which was deemed by county commissioners as a time to celebrate the county’s natural resources.
