OROVILLE Emergency 911 service is down in the 476 telephone prefix in the Oroville area.
Okanogan County Emergency Manager Maurice Goodall said people can call within that prefix, but not outside of it.
"Due to severe wild fires and burned fiber, 911, voice and internet services are down in Oroville and surrounding areas," CenturyLink spokesman Kerry Zimmer said. "We are still assessing the damage."
People needing emergency services can call the Oroville Police Department at 509-476-2913.
Fire is currently preventing CenturyLink from accessing equipment and lines to begin repairs.
"The Okanogan County Sherriff is working with us to provide safe passage for our team to begin repairing the systems," Zimmer said. "No estimated time of restoral can be determined now."
