Brewster cruises to win over Morton-White Pass

— Chance Williams of Brewster worked the inside for 15 points to help lead the Bears to a 61-43 win over Morton-White Pass on Tuesday at the Wilbur-Ellis SunDome Shootout.

Edgar Najera scored 14 points that included two 3-pointers and Timbo Taylor finished with 13 points.

The teams are expected to be ranked in the Top 10 boys’ basketball teams when the Associated Press publishes its first poll in early January.

Morton-White Pass won last year’s 2B state tournament. Brewster finished third.

The Bears jumped out to a 33-19 halftime lead and won the second half 28-24.
