— Brewster broke open what was a close game for two quarters to finish third in state with a 78-49 demolishing of Northwest Christian (Colbert) on Saturday.

“We came out the second half and showed them we were the better team,” said Chance Williams, who came off the bench to finish with 14 points. “We left it all out on the court.”

Brewster led 30-25 at the half before overpowering the Crusaders in the second half, 48-24.

“We kept pressure on them and moved the ball on offense,” said Timbo Taylor (18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists). “We converted our open shots.”

“That was our most consistent game of the tournament, offensively and defensively,” Brewster coach Tim Taylor said. “We got good transition buckets and limited them to one shot.”
