OLYMPIA – Commissioner of Public Lands Peter Goldmark is again asking legislators for monetary help in controlling wildfires.

In the wake of another record year of wildfire damage, the state Department of Natural Resources is asking the Legislature for an additional $24.279 million to equip and train more in-state wildland firefighters, and make forests and communities more resistant to the megablazes that have swept Washington.
