Pateros forfeits Friday's football game

— The Pateros High School 8-man football team forfeited this morning its game against Almira/Coulee-Hartline scheduled for Friday at home.

Billygoat coach Marcus Stennes said he had too few players due to injuries – there’s been two severe ones the last couple weeks – and academics.

ACH was ranked by the Associated Press last week at No. 5 in state 1B behind Republic at No. 4.

A big 2B matchup Friday finds No. 6 Brewster, which is undefeated, at No. 5 Okanogan, which has one loss.

It’s a non-league game. The rivals play a league game at Brewster on Oct. 30 with seeding to state and the Central Washington B League title on the line.

Okanogan’s lone loss this year was at Lind/Ritzville-Sprague, which is undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the 2B poll.

Homecoming games include Tonasket at Oroville and Northport at Republic.

Bridgeport, which does not have a football team, is celebrating homecoming this week.
