Cattlemen meet with wolf-human

OMAK — There wasn’t a Kumbaya moment Friday night as cattlemen walked away from a three-hour session with the state’s contract wolf-human conflict manager without any pretense of a resolution.

Negotiator Francine Madden, who’s being paid $850,000 over the next two years under a contract with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife, sat down at Koala Street Grill with less than a dozen cattlemen to talk about the “war” between ranchers and environmentalists.
