South volleyball teams dominate district

— The south 2B volleyball teams looked tough the first day of the District 6 tournament at Ephrata High School.

Waterville, which had to defeat Lake Roosevelt in a loser-out match to enter the 8-team tournament, then upset Okanogan, 3-2, in the first round.

Waterville then blanked Kittitas, 3-0, to reach the finals against Warden that will be played next Saturday.

Brewster got past Soap Lake, 3-2, before falling 3-0 to Warden.

Brewster and Okanogan, co-champions in the north division of the Central Washington B League, will play a loser-out game at 2 p.m. next Saturday at Ephrata.

Four teams will advance to the state 2B tournament.

Saturday, Nov. 7 at Ephrata High School

Game 10: Kittitas vs. Soap Lake, noon - loser out

Game 11: Brewster vs. Okanogan, 2 p.m. - loser out

Game 12 championship: Warden vs. Waterville, 4 p.m., No. 1 and No. 2 to state

Game 13 consolation final: Winner game 10 vs. Winner game 11, 6 p.m. - winner No. 3, loser No. 4 to state
