Family pickets for justice in Hudson’s death

OKANOGAN – Peacefully pacing the sidewalk in front of the Okanogan County Courthouse Monday morning, Albert Hudson said the effort “doesn’t bring him back.”

Hudson, wife Alice and a handful of community residents held picket sings with son Wade Hudson’s face on them in an attempt to raise awareness to what they consider police brutality.

Hudson died Sept. 26, 2015, after an apparent altercation with Omak officer Shane Schaefer. The Omak department turned investigation of the incident over to the Washington State Patrol, which has not yet completed its investigation.
