OLYMPIA — A bill inspired by the Pateros School District’s post-Carlton Complex fire problems received a hearing before the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee Thursday morning.

House Bill 1003, sponsored by 12th District Rep. Brad Hawkins, R-East Wenatchee, was passed by the House on Jan. 27 and sent on to the Senate.

“I was pleased that House Bill 1003 received a hearing this morning,” Hawkins said Thursday.
