Commissioners set moratorium on marijuana sites

OKANOGAN – In a surprise decision, county commissioners passed a resolution early Tuesday calling for a moratorium on additional marijuana growing, producing or retail operations within the unincorporated boundaries of Okanogan County for six months or until the resolution is repealed.

A discussion between county commissioners and a CEO of one of the county’s largest pot producer-processors on Monday brought an unhappy group of neighbors to complain about the operation and others like it near the Omak Municipal Airport.
