Commissioners set moratorium on marijuana sites

The Chronicle

OKANOGAN – In a surprise decision, county commissioners passed a resolution early Tuesday calling for a moratorium on additional marijuana growing, producing or retail operations within the unincorporated boundaries of Okanogan County for six months or until the resolution is repealed.

A discussion between county commissioners and a CEO of one of the county’s largest pot producer-processors on Monday brought an unhappy group of neighbors to complain about the operation and others like it near the Omak Municipal Airport.

The complete story will be available on newsstands in the March 9 edition of The Chronicle or online in our e-edition.
