Bureau may revive Conconully resort

CONCONULLY — U.S. Bureau of Reclamation officials met with local residents Friday to unveil the beginning steps of a two-phase project to reopen the Conconully Lake Resort and associated RV park.

“We know the resort is extremely important to the community here,” bureau spokesman Michael Williamson said. “What I can tell you is we have a plan, we have a budget and we have staff dedicated to working on the resort. We envision Conconully Lake Resort being a long-term, viable, recreation asset for this area.”

Late last fall, the resort on the upper lake closed after then-manager Kevin Messer’s lease was not renewed.
