Moratorium throws pot plans into limbo

TONASKET — Ron Motes finally had a use for 13 acres near town that wasn’t much good for anything agricultural.

“With a 13-acre field you can’t make money with alfalfa,” Motes said.

Last year, with marijuana growers popping up all over the valley, Motes started looking into the prospects and this year decided to apply for a license.
