OROVILLE – A two-vehicle accident seven miles south of town yesterday afternoon claimed the life of a Tonasket woman and injured three others.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Anselma Cervantes, 47, Tonasket, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cervantes was the passenger in a car driven by Yazmin Cervantes Orozco, 21, Tonasket.
According to the patrol, Cervantes Orozco was southbound on Highway 97 and was making a left turn into a private driveway when her car collided with a northbound pickup truck driven by Steven L. Maupin, 19, Oroville.
Cervantes Orozco, Maupin and his passenger, Wyatt E. Radke, 16, Tonasket, were all transported by ambulance to North Valley Hospital in Tonasket.
The patrol did not comment on the extent of their injuries.
While the patrol said the cause of the accident remains under investigation, no drugs or alcohol were involved.
All were wearing seatbelts, the patrol said.
