OKANOGAN - The Spokane office of the National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook calling for scattered thunderstorms and heavy rains throughout most of Eastern Washington, including Okanogan County.
“Isolated to scattered thunderstorms capable of heavy downpours, gusty winds, and small hail will be possible this afternoon,” meteorologists said Thursday morning. “Storm motion this afternoon will decrease toward 15 mph suggesting the strongest storms will be capable of brief localized heavy rains and a small potential for debris flows and flash floods over sensitive 2015 burn scars.”
The service has also issued similar outlooks for the Coeur D ‘Alene, Idaho area, Moses Lake area, upper Columbia Basin, Spokane area, Wenatchee area and Waterville Plateau.
