Landdeck arrested after failing to appear

TONASKET – A Tonasket High School basketball coach was arrested Friday, Feb. 24.

According to the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Arthur Landdeck, 50, was arrested on a Douglas County warrant for failure to appear for third-degree driving while suspended.

He posted bail about an hour after his arrest. His apprehension does not affect him coaching for the district, Superintendent Steve McCullough said, noting Landdeck was reinstated to coach the boys’ basketball team last week.

Last month Landdeck was suspended after apparently interrupting a middle school class and accusing the teacher of calling Landdeck’s son a name. The altercation, which took place while class was in session, was videotaped by a student.

Okanogan County Prosecuting Attorney Karl Sloan said he was aware of the videotaped altercation.

“Nothing has been filed,” Sloan said Tuesday morning. “We have the case set for review.”
