OMAK – An Introduction to Rites of Passage, facilitated by Darcy Ottey and Alex Eppel, takes place this Saturday, August 11, at the Loup Loup Campground.
People interested in exploring how rites of passage support individual growth and community health are invited to attend this full day, intergenerational immersion into nature and community. The event, open to all ages, runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Questions to be explored include, “How do people transition into new life roles?” “How do young people become adults?” and “How do we welcome others into their own unique and meaningful roles in our community?”
“For many cultures throughout time, rites of passage have been an important answer,” said Eppel. “We will explore how this tradition can bring clarity of purpose and belonging to our community and into our own lives.”
Eppel said between himself and co-facilitator Darcy Ottey, they have decades of experience in rites of passage and human development across three continents.
Attendees are asked to bring a dish for the potluck lunch.
A donation is suggested.
