I’m running for Congress because we need change in our nation’s capital. Like most of us, I’m frustrated by a broken Congress paralyzed by partisan politics and not delivering results for eastern Washington. I’m an educator, economist, and former state legislator with a proven track record of listening to the people I represent and finding common ground to get things done. That’s how as the WSU Spokane chancellor I was able to bring people together to create a new medical school and teaching health center in eastern Washington.

What sets you apart from your opponents?

As a state Senate majority leader I worked across the aisle to make sure eastern Washington got a new veterans care facility and our fair share of state resources. Unfortunately, the spirit of cooperation I used in the Legislature doesn’t exist in Congress anymore. People here are ready for a representative who puts their priorities first. Among other goals, I plan to serve on the House Agriculture Committee, since currently no one from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Montana serves on that committee. Farmers are worried about tariffs and an impending trade war, and our current representative has not done enough.

What is the biggest challenge your district is facing?

Wherever I go in the district I hear similar concerns: people are worried about the cost of health care and prescriptions, worried about the safety of Social Security, and most of all have lost trust in Congress. I think that if we want to change Congress we have to change who we send there. I’m not waiting until I’m elected, and that’s why I’ve pledged not to accept contributions from corporate PACs. I’m putting people first on this campaign and will put people first in Congress. With your support and your vote, we can bring a new approach to D.C.

I am the only 5th congressional district candidate who supports and trusts

President Trump 100%. Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Lisa Brown do not.

I am a conservative Trump Populist Republican. With me, President Trump get the full benefit of the doubt and the first bite of the apple.

My political beliefs are very clear and they can be summarized simply in the three basic principles of our Founding Fathers: (1) The fruits of our labor belong to us. (2) We are citizens, not subjects. (3) Our rights come from God, not from the state. (And, I dislike political correctness.)

What sets you apart from your opponents?

In congress, I will advocate the following: (1) Term limits for congress. Eight years. Done. Go home. (2) No pensions for congress. Serve your country. It’s not about getting rich. (3) Balance the budget so we can start to fix our $21 trillion debt, Social Security, and Medicare.

This election is an auction. Cathy has raised $2.6 million, Lisa over $1 million. That is a lot of IOUs. I have no IOUs.

President Trump needs more disciple-followers like me in congress who are totally free to legislate his MAGA agenda.

College educated, I am an Army veteran and businessman.

What is the biggest challenge your district is facing?

The local economy and jobs are top issues in this congressional district. For example, in Spokane County, the median income was $50,432 versus $60,294 for Washington State. 22% of the workforce here is 55 years or older. This area lacks mega employers.

In congress, with my expertise in manufacturing, I will work diligently to foster economic development and to promote more vocational training to replace the retirement of aged workers. Manufacturing has a trickle-down effect. For every manufacturing job created, one job each in marketing, distribution, and service are also created. Ultimately, this all benefits our agriculture industry.
