OMAK — Marvin and Karin Schertenleib shook their heads in disbelief as they walked around what use to be their nearly 70-year-old barn – now a pile of twisted metal and snapped rough-cut beams.

A heavy windstorm ripped over the couple’s property early Sunday evening leveling the barn, but escaping injury to people, livestock and adjacent homes...
