VIEW FROM THE SIDELINES: Hoffman to lead WIAA

The Omak eighth grade girls Sharpshooters team took first place last weekend at the 2019 Eastmont AAU basketball tournament. The team, which went 5-0 in the tournament and is 29-1 overall, included (from left, front row) Halle Albert, Aaliyah Marchand, Alyssa Davis and manager LaHalee Michel; (second row) assistant coach Alana Seymour, Alex Goetz, Paris Marchand, Sedeaju’ Michel, Taylor Meyer, Taya Graham and head coach Benny Marchand. The team is entered in a state tournament March 15-17 in Spokane.

Mick Hoffman

Mick Hoffman was named the next Executive Director for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association that governs school activities including sports for the state’s schools.
