Harold W. Lamberton. M.D.
Walla Walla
August 9, 1918- April 22, 2008
     Walla Walla resident, Dr. Harold W. Lamberton, 89, died April 22, 2008, at the Washington Odd Fellows Home, 534 Boyer Avenue, Walla Walla, Wash.
     The memorial service will be 4 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2008, in the Brewster High School Gymnasium. Following the memorial service, there will be a community potluck in the High School Commons. Memorial contributions may be made to the Okanogan-Douglas County Hospital in Brewster through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
     Dr. Lamberton was born August 9, 1918, in Langford, S.D. to Henry Horton and Epkaya Suttmann Lamberton. He graduated as class president from Brewster High School in 1937. He graduated from Walla Walla College in 1941 and received his medical degree from the College of Medical Evangelists, now known as Loma Linda University, in 1943. On October 14, 1943, he and Bernice Wall married in Redlands, Calif. The family moved to this area in 1993 from Brewster.


Johan “John” Brathen
     John passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at home. John was born Aug. 3, 1937 in Nakkerud, Norway to Haakon and Olga Braathen. The family came to Riverside, Wash. in 1952.
     John graduated from Riverside High School in 1956. He joined the Navy and served from 1956 to 1960. Upon returning from the Navy, he was a logger then went to work at Hank and Earl’s Auto Wrecking, later becoming the owner. John also operated the family apple orchard for many years. John was known for his love of spending time with his family in the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling and ATVing.
     At his request there will be no services at this time. A remembrance of John’s life for family and friends will be planned at a later date.
     Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Okanogan Regional Home Health and Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
     Precht-Harrison-Nearents and the Okanogan Co. Crematory of Okanogan were entrusted with the arrangements.


Nancy Pauline Boober
Brewster
     Nancy Pauline Boober, 77, of Brewster, Wash., passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Okanogan-Douglas District Hospital after a short illness.
     She was born on April 12, 1931 in Lake Stevens, Wash., to Flora and Carl Granger. Nancy lived most of her life in Snohomish County, and moved to Okanogan County eight years ago. Nancy was a very special lady and loved by many.
     A memorial service and dinner will be held on June 7, 2008 at 4 p.m. at Jim Boober’s residence in Okanogan. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, folks make donations to the Residents Fund at Harmony House in Brewster, Wash.


Lynn Evelyn Gregg
     Lynn Evelyn Gregg, 46, went home to be with her Lord on April 23, 2008.
     She was born the daughter of Donald and Arline McCready in Renton, Wash., in August 1961. Skinny Lynny, as she was known at home, attended Renton area schools and graduated from Hazen High school in 1979. She married Mike Hagen and was blessed with daughter, Katie.
     She and her beautiful daughter, Katie, moved to the Quad City area in 1997 and she worked as the cook for the Bridgeport School District where she could give the kids a good meal and a friendly face. There she met and married Scott Gregg and had two more precious children, Rebekah and Jackson.
     There will be a celebration of her life Friday, May 9, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. at Omak First Baptist Church, 620 W Ridge Dr., Omak, 826-4141, with refreshments to follow. Graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Renton, Wash. on May 5, 2008.
     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way N.E., Seattle, Wash., 98105.


Joseph D. Kobe
     Joseph D. Kobe, our beloved father, passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted family on April 27, 2008, after a long, courageous battle with CHF.
     He was born May 2, 1923, in Riverside (Omak), Wash. He was the youngest of eight children. After graduating from Riverside High School, he joined the Merchant Marines.
     In 1948 he married Maxine Stout and eventually settled in Seattle, Wash., to raise their three girls. He worked at Chief Joseph Dam from 1950 to 1955. He volunteered at the Omak Fire Station before joining the Boeing Fire Department in 1957, retiring in 1985.
     A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at Marlatt Funeral Home, 713 Central Ave. N., Kent. Graveside services will follow at Tahoma Veterans Cemetery, Kent.


Millard F. Fowler
Okanogan
     Millard F. Fowler, age 87, of Okanogan, Wash., passed away at his home on Thursday, April 24, 2008 surrounded by loving family.
     Millard was born in 1921 to Willard and Fern Fowler at Republic, Wash. The family moved to Okanogan in 1929, where Millard graduated from high school in 1940. After graduation, he took over Fowler Construction Co., from his dad and at the same time began dating his future wife, Frances Jones of Riverside, Wash., whom he met at a dance at the Scotch Creek Grange Hall.
     A memorial service for Millard will be held at Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel at 2547 Elmway, Okanogan, Wash. on Friday, May 9, 2008 at 1 p.m., followed by a luncheon at the Eagles Lodge on Elmway, Okanogan.
     Donations may be made in his honor to the Shriners Hospital for Children, PO Box 2472, Spokane, Wash. 99210-2472.
     Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel was entrusted with services.


Sandra K. Bidlen
     Sandra K. Bidlen, 63, a lifelong resident of Omak, died May 2, 2008.
     Private family services will be held at a later date.
     Legacy Memorial Funeral Home, Omak, is in charge of arrangements.
