A pre-agility class for dogs and their owners will be offered at 7 p.m. Wednesdays, June 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 11 1/2 S. Whitcomb, Tonasket.
A $20 donation to Howling Ridge Animal Rescue is asked.
Class size will be limited to seven handlers and seven dogs.
Dog agility is the sport of the handler directing the dog through a set course of obstacles, explained Sue Edick, who said she's been competing in agility for more than eight years.
Her dog, Ivy, has been competing for three years and has several titles.
Edick and her friend, Linda Shields, I did a demonstration at the Okanogan County fair last year.
"Agility is a great activity to do with your dog," Edick said. "It gives them a job and makes them think. It is a fun way to improve the dog/owner relationship."
The class is for people who may have seen dogs doing agility work and thought it looked fun.
"It is not a class for dogs with behavior issues," she said.
More information is available from Edick, 486-0564 or tuggard@genext.net.
