Okanogan seniors plan outdoor ceremonies June 2

Okanogan High School's class of 2007 will head outdoors for graduation, with the ceremony set for 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2, on the football field.
The ceremony will be outdoors because the traditional venue, Dawson Gym, is torn apart for remodeling.
"Rain, shine, wind, storm, hail storm - no matter what," it'll be outside, said principal Bob Shacklett. "There is no plan B."
A cake-and-punch reception will be held afterward in the school cafetorium. The traditional senior slide show will be presented during the reception.
Valedictorian is Carson Mills, son of Lori and Matt Mills, Okanogan. He plans to attend Lewis and Clark College, Portland, Ore., to study engineering.
Salutatorian probably will be Emily Hu, daughter of Mary and Ron Whiteside, Okanogan, say school officials. She plans to study psychology at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho.
A close third - and too close to call until final grades are in - is Stephen Justus, son of Robert and Eugenie Justus, Okanogan. He plans to study economics at Providence College in Providence, R.I.
Class song is "Life is a Highway," by Rascal Flatts. Class flower is a white rose.
Seniors chose as their motto "I hope your dreams take you . . . to the corner of your smiles, to the highest of your hopes, to the windows of your opportunities, and to the most special places your heart has ever known."
Baccalaureate is at 7 tonight, May 30, at the New Life Centre, Okanogan.
Okanogan seniors are Hilaria Alatorre (Lalis Rosas), Alana Best, Jamie Botello, Nicole Bowes, Cody Bradley, Blue Cagle, Brittany Christie, Luecinda Churape, Kristel Craig, Douglas DeLap,
