Oroville commencement is June 2

     Oroville High School seniors' commencement ceremonies start at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, in Coulton Auditorium.
     Alison Van Woert, daughter of Donita and Duane Van Woert, has been named valedictorian. She plans to study English at Washington State University.
     Andrea Hires, daughter of Jeanne and Buddy Hires, is salutatorian. She plans to move to Boise, Idaho, and may attend school there, according to school officials.
     Time and location of baccalaureate activities are yet to be determined.
     Class colors are navy blue, gold and white. The class flowers are Hawaiian leis and class song is "Island in the Sun," by Weezer.
     Class motto is "We met as strangers, grew as classmates and leave as friends. The times we shared will live forever and the memories are ours to treasure."
     Senior scholarships and awards night, organized by Dollars for Scholars, will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 1, in the high school commons.

     Kimberly Nellis, Shawna Nutt, Cory Pellegrini, Benjamen Porter, Ashly Rairdan, Elizabeth Shellenbarger, Jakki Stewart, Roberta Stone, Sarah Thompson, Candy Vallade,
     Alison Van Woert, Eva Viveros, Justin Williams, Billie Jo Wilson, Emily Wise, Brant Woodruff, Colton Wright and and Amanda Wyatt.
