A 10-week Postal Pistol Match starts Thursday at the Omak Fish and Game Club, 26 old Riverside Highway. Shooters can shoot at either 5 p.m. Thursday or 9 a.m. Sunday starting each week, spokesman Ralph Malone said.

Spring Chinook may be returning to the Okanogan River in 2015 if the Colville tribe and National Marine Fisheries officials have their way. During a meeting Tuesday night, more than two dozen officials gathered at Koala Street Grill to discuss efforts to reintroduce an “experimental” spring run to the river.
